Mohenjo-daro

Mohn-jo-Daro is an ancient relic based in the Sindh province of Pakistan. The term Mohn-Jo-Daro is a Sindhi translation for ‘Mound of the dead’. It dates back to the 2500 BCE and is famously known to be the residence of the ancient Urban Indus Valley civilization. The Buddhist stupa of Mohn-jo daro first attracted attention due to its height. It is located about (ca. 21m)  above ground atop a citadel mound. The Buddhist stupa was seen as a sacred place during olden times. The site has been declared a world heritage site by UNESCO. On all four sides of the courtyard if the stupa are monastic cells and east side shows the previous existence of two large enclosures.
