Khaplu Fort

Many of the noted and prominent stories are attached to the Khaplu fort. It was a popular place of the 17th and 18th centuries due to its family and political ties with the royal family of the neighboring state, Ladakh. It is the modernized symbol of Balti Royalty and aristocracy. 

Khaplu Fort is lately known as Yabgo Khar (the Fort on the roof). The alluring spotlight of this palace is the laboriously decorated windows with penetrating arcs that dominate the view of the whole valley, and the underground passageway for Plebeians. The diversity and multicultural environment of Khaplu fort have captivated most of the tourists.
